Bally’s Virgin Casino Exits NJ, MONOPOLY Casino Takes Over
The Bally’s online casino product in New Jersey has been renamed to MONOPOLY Casino. It was formerly known as Virgin Casino, a brand name that is being retired gradually. Existing Virgin users have had their accounts migrated to the new app.
MONOPOLY Joins Crowded NJ Online Casino Market
More than three dozen online casinos are licensed in New Jersey. Bally’s has had a product in the iGaming market in the Garden State since 2021. However, with that product now branded as MONOPOLY Casino, it remains to be seen if that mobile app will perform better than the former Virgin online casino.
Users of Virgin will have a seamless transition: their accounts have been ported securely over to MONOPOLY app. Bally’s has already successfully launched the MONOPOLY online casino brand in Europe, in both the United Kingdom and Spain, so they have experience with this.
Users who have accounts they created for Bally’s Virgin Casino mobile applications in New Jersey will be able to login to the new MONOPOLY Casino with their same credentials. They can also still earn points in the loyalty program, now called Special MONOPOLY reward and the MONOPOLY VIP program.
The new app in New Jersey is still built on the Gamesys platform, which means the functionality, security, and reliability of the app will be the same. It has been rebranded with new logos and colors to match the MONOPOLY game, but the menus and navigation in the mobile app should be familiar to end users.
There is plenty of revenue on the table in New Jersey from online casino users. In September, the state reported $200 million in adjusted gross revenue, according to the NJ Division of Gaming Enforcement. The market remains one of the most active in the United States.
With their MONOPOLY Casino app, Bally’s will offer the same popular titles as it did in the Virgin app. There will also be titles like MONOPOLY Slots, MONOPOLY Money in Hand, MONOPOLY Megaways, MONOPOLY Paradise Mansion.
The rebranding comes at a time when Bally’s is experiencing growth in its online casino gaming division. In the third quarter of 2024, the company reported $45.6 million in revenue, compared to $29.5 million in the second quarter. That figure comes from the three brands Bally’s operates in the US iGaming market: Bally Bet, Virgin Casino, and Bally Casino.
