Love and Dancing Are Done but EastEnders Is a Punters Party
Carley Stenson became the sixth star to be voted off Dancing on Ice on Sunday. Her departure represented the first shock of the season. Beforehand every eliminated celebrity had finished bottom of that week’s judges’ scorecards.
The former Hollyoaks and Doctors star lost out in a skate-off against Siva Kaneswaran. Remarkably, Siva had not finished towards the bottom of the judges scoring. Instead, it was Mollie Gallagher that registered the lowest marks at the weekend.
In addition to Siva and Mollie, three other contestants remain in the ITV show that has now reached its semi-final stages. Nile Wilson has been the bookmakers’ favorite from the outset, and his odds have shrunk after every episode. The former gymnast is now a prohibitive 1/4 shot.
Joey Essex and The Vivienne follow on 6/1. Despite this weekend’s show being a potential banana skin – celebrities will perform twice, once with their partners and then as a solo routine, plus two skaters will be eliminated – it is difficult to see beyond the favorite. And, with no each-way betting, the 2023 show offers little interest as a betting medium.
When Will Love Come to an End?
Love Island also has an inevitable look about it. A lack of entertainment means producers are making the most of Claudia’s heartbreak over Casey. But, under the radar, Jessie and Will are smitten, and punters are in love with them as much as they claim to be in love with one another.
The best online betting sites quote the pair on 4/6 to claim the Love Island title when the ITV4 show ends. No date has been confirmed for the air date of the final episode. It allows time for some additional drama. However, it is considered unlikely any couple apart from Jessie and Will, or Ron and Lana – the 3/1 second favorites – can take the £50,000 prize.
BBC Plot a Christmas Special Market
Thankfully, the BBC’s flagship soap opera, EastEnders, made history last week when teasing a flashforward of a Christmas murder. Ladbrokes sportsbook has already formulated a TV specials market on the ‘who done it?’ and the plot looks assured to produce a record-breaking slow-burning ante-post treat.
In a mysterious and shocking teaser scene, characters Denise, Kathy, Linda, Sharon, Stacey and Suki are seen surrounding a dead body. However, the identity of the corpse and the killer have been kept secret. Identifying a murderer in a soap show is notoriously difficult. When the victim is also a mystery, things are very trappy!
All that is clear from the clever flashforward clip is Sharon is wearing a blood-stained wedding dress, and Denise is clutching a broken champagne bottle. Ladbrokes have taken note and have Stacey Slater trading as the 3/1 favorite to be identified as the murderer.
Denise Fox and Linda Carter follow on 7/2. Sharon Watts is 4/1 and, at this point in time, Kathy Beale and Suki Panesar trade as the outsiders on 5/1. Suki’s odds are surprising as the character – currently struggling with her marriage and sexuality – tops a Daily Mail ‘who do you think the killer is?’ poll with 49 percent of the votes.
