Key Facts:
- Tech company VoxBet has developed the BetCaller voice-activated betting feature
- It will be available through the At the Races app at Cheltenham Festival 2025
- It uses voice-recognition technology to let people place bets using just their voice
VoxBet has developed BetCaller, a voice-activated betting tool that will see its first major rollout at this year’s Cheltenham Festival. Those attending the racing event will be able to access BetCaller and place bets using their voice through the At the Races app.
BetCaller has been designed with advanced voice-recognition technology. It will offer users a way of quickly and easily placing bets without tapping their phones multiple times. It should, in theory, make the betting process faster and more streamlined than ever.
How BetCaller Works
The BetCaller feature has been designed to recognise three key things: the name of a horse, the type of bet the user wants to place, and the size of the bet. If someone says these three things, BetCaller should generate a betting slip populated with these key pieces of information.
This betting slip will also include the user’s details. All they will have to do is check the information is correct and confirm they want to place the bet. This cuts out several steps and means that users don’t have to spend as much time as before whenever they want to place bets.
It remains to be seen how people will respond to BetCaller at this year’s Cheltenham Festival. While many people will be keen to try it out, VoxBet will no doubt be hoping the feature performs as intended and is received well by those who use it.
Reactions to the BetCaller Tool
VoxBet’s founder and MD, Jonathan Power, has said the following about the new tool:
Put succinctly, the new BetCaller functionality enables users to place bets quickly and easily using voice recognition. And this will produce major benefits for racing and wider sports fans by instantly improving their betting and viewing experiences. Needless to say, going live with a brand as renowned and trusted as At the Races brings with it an instant endorsement of Voxbet’s accuracy and speed. We’re thankful to them for their responsive collaboration to get BetCaller out there before an event as consequential as the Cheltenham Festival.– Jonathan Power, VoxBet, VoxBet founder comments on BetCaller tool, Gambling Insider
Another important figure who has spoken about the tool is Sam Boswell, the Head of Sponsorship at BetVictor. Here’s what he’s said about it:
We are delighted to partner with At the Races to deliver a modern way to bet for those using BetCaller on the ATR app. Innovating and improving the customer journey are both key to our business and how we think as an organisation. We loved the idea behind BetCaller and cannot wait to see the result and feedback from our customers in the coming weeks.– Sam Boswell, BetVictor, BetVictor Head of Sponsorship discusses the BetCaller tool, Gambling Insider
Hopefully, BetCaller will be a success and will be integrated into more apps so that people at other events can use it. The development of this tool just goes to show how technology can improve betting experiences, and that there’s still a lot more that can be done.
