Parx Joins AGA’s Awareness Campaign
The parent company of Parx Casino and BetParx, Greenwood Racing, has become the latest gambling business to hop aboard the American Gaming Association’s (AGA) ‘Have a Game Plan. Campaign Promotes Four Key Principles of Responsible Sports Betting
The company which owns Parx Casino and BetParx, Greenwood Racing, has been revealed as the latest gambling business to pledge its support to the American Gaming Association’s (AGA) ‘Have a Game Plan. Bet Responsibly.’ safer gambling awareness campaign.
As a result of Greenwood Racing hopping on board the campaign, the Parx brand will be tasked with promoting responsible gaming consumer education at its sportsbooks, which will be done largely through its BetParx app and on its digital channels.
First launched back in 2019, the American Gaming Association’s ‘Have a Game Plan. Bet Responsibly.’ is based around four key principles of responsible sports betting, including the likes of setting a budget and keeping to it, ensuring gambling is social, knowing the odds, and only wagering with trustworthy and licensed operators.

The senior vice president over at the American Gaming Association (AGA), Casey Clark, said the organization was elated at bringing Parx Casino and BetParx onboard its awareness campaign, especially in light of the recent exponential rise of legal sports betting offerings for everyday Americans:
“The AGA is thrilled to welcome Parx Casino and BetParx as Have A Game Plan campaign partners. The expansion of legal sports betting options—to 130 million Americans today—reinforces the importance of bringing together as many voices as possible to educate consumers on responsible wagering.”– Casey Clark, Senior Vice President, American Gaming Association (AGA)
Numerous other gambling industry leaders are awaiting Parx at the ‘Have a Game Plan. Bet Responsibly.’ campaign, including the likes of Barstool Sportsbook, BetMGM, DraftKings, Delaware North, Entain, FanDuel, MGM Resorts International, Penn National Gaming and Rush Street Interactive.
The American Gaming Association (AGA) has also been successful in winning the support of major sports and media brands for its campaign, including Nascar, the National Hockey League (NHL), the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and golf’s PGA Tour.
United States Football League Also Recently Joined AGA Campaign
The United States Football League (USFL), a brand-new independent football league scheduled to have its inaugural season launch in April 2022, also threw its weight behind the AGA’s campaign in late March 2022.
The league is expected to promote responsible sports wagering through its broadcast, cable, streaming and social media outlets. Executive vice president of business operations at the USFL, Edward Hartman, asserted that the league was committed to educating its users:
“We’re proud to partner with the AGA to help drive the important message to bet responsibly. As sports wagering expands nationwide, the USFL is committed to help educate our fans so they can better enjoy the experience.”
AGA’s senior vice president Casey Clark emphasized the importance of having a league such as the USFL on board its awareness campaign:
“Responsible gaming leadership from professional sports leagues like the USFL is critical to getting sports betting right. We’re thrilled to welcome the USFL as a partner and value their commitment to prioritizing responsible sports wagering education for their fans.”
Pennsylvania Regulator Fined Parx Casino in October 2021
In October 2021, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) revealed that it had fined Parx Casino operator Greenwood Gaming and Entertainment $10,000 for allowing underage gaming to take place on its gaming floor.
The fine was issued because, by letting underage gambling occur on its premises, Parx Casino had violated the state’s underage gaming laws. An 18-year old stepped onto the Buck County casino’s gaming floor and gambled on its slot machines.
There are also three cases of children being left unattended by their parents in casino parking lots. The board went onto remind the general public not to leave children unattended – no matter where.
