IBIA’s Global Integrity Monitoring Network Will Be Upgraded

The IBIA (International Betting Integrity Association) recently announced plans to improve its technology platform. This platform supports the IBIA’s global integrity monitoring network that covers betting transactions worth in excess of $300 billion per year. The upgrade is intended to enhance security and make its reporting system more reliable.

Key Tech Upgrades Coming to IBIA’s Global Integrity Monitoring Network

The IBIA is partnering with Bluehouse Technology to carry out a significant upgrade to its technology platform. The platform supports the IBIA’s global integrity monitoring network that currently handles more than $300 billion worth of betting transactions per annum.

The aim of this project is to develop a number of useful tools for both the IBIA and its growing collection of members. These tools are meant to better protect consumers and betting activities in regulated markets.

They’re also intended to maintain the positive aspects of sports betting and promote them on a global scale. In short, the upgrade should make betting on sports safer and more appealing than before.

The CEO of IBIA, Khalid Ali, has said the following about the upgrade:

It’s designed to keep up with the integrity needs of our expanding membership and the extensive market data we handle. This will be a crucial part of our efforts to protect the integrity of sporting events and regular sports betting markets around the world.Khalid Ali, IBIA CEO Speaks About Upgrades, Asia Gaming Brief

.

Once the upgrade is complete, the IBIA should be able to carry out a more in-depth analysis of its members’ data. The upgrade is essential as membership continues to grow and the analysis of data becomes more useful.

Key Advantages of the Upgrade

One of the key advantages of analysing data is detecting corruption. Checking member accounts and looking for potential signs of corruption are two key things that the IBIA’s global integrity monitoring network does.

When the network picks up on something that doesn’t look right, an investigation is subsequently carried out. The goal of this is to determine exactly who is responsible for the corruption and prevent them from doing more harm.

In the third quarter of 2024 alone, the IBIA received a total of 42 potential corruption alerts. As a result of these, investigations were carried out, and 21 clubs, members and other people were formally sanctioned.

The upgrade is meant to streamline the process of analysing data, identifying potential signs of corruption and responding to them. In other words, it should enable the IBIA to stamp out corruption more quickly and effectively than before.

Passing Bulletproof’s Audit Successfully

There are a number of important technological advancements in the upgrade that should make all this possible. These have successfully passed an audit by Bulletproof, an IT and cybersecurity company that works closely with Gaming Laboratories International.

Having passed Bulletproof’s audit, the upgrade is on its way to becoming a reality. Once it’s in place, the IBIA should find it much easier to detect and stop corruption.

A New Gambling Market Will Also Benefit from the Upgrade

The upgrade is coming at a good time as sports betting is soon to become legal in Brazil. The country, home to 211 million people, is going to launch its legal sports betting market on 1 January, 2025.

It’s estimated that by 2028, Brazil’s new sports betting market will reach $34 billion. With IBIA members representing around 70% of the gross revenue, there’ll be a lot more data to analyse.

With much more data to deal with, the upgrade is clearly needed and will no doubt be a massive help for the IBIA. It should enable the IBIA to cope with its expansions and growing membership for years to come.
