Sands and Marriott Bring First Luxury Collection Hotel to Macao

Macao’s first Luxury Collection Hotel is on the way, says Sands China and Marriott International.

One of the gambling capitals of the world, Macao is home to some of the planet’s most impressive hotels, casinos and resorts.

And The Londoner Macao could be set to join them when the Luxury Collection Hotel opens up thanks to the collaboration between Sands China and Marriott International. Award-winning Hong Kong architects Peter Silling & Associates have designed the hotel, which features Georgian-inspired architecture inspired by the glitzy London borough of Mayfair.

Chief Executive Officer and President of Sands China, Grant Chum, says the company is “excited” to be teaming up with Marriott International for the destination. In a statement announcing the new hotel, he said:

“Building on the success of The Londoner Macao, adding Londoner Grand to its portfolio represents a pivotal moment in our mission to elevate Macao’s luxury hospitality landscape. This extraordinary hotel will serve as a gateway to Macao’s fascinating cultural heritage, offering guests an immersive journey into a city steeped in history, gastronomy and unforgettable experiences.”Grant Chum, CEO and President of Sands China

Highly Anticipated

Gavin Yu, Marriott International’s Chief Development Officer for the greater China region, said casino capital Macao “continues to attract travellers across the globe”. He added:

“The highly anticipated hotel will blend Macao’s East-meets-West culture with The Luxury Collection’s distinctive perspective on luxury, providing our guests unparalleled access to a city rich with heritage, cuisine, and captivating experiences.”Gavin Yu, CDO of Marriott International

The aim is for the new property to become a landmark in Macao, with fine dining at its heart. Its guests will have the choice of eating out in a range of top restaurants, including at the following:

  • Hampton Court, with its international and Chinese buffet
  • Chelsea Garden, an all-day dining outlet
  • The Conservatory, including a dim sum restaurant and tearoom and a British pub bar
  • A signature Chinese restaurant serving authentic Cantonese fare
  • Another signature Chinese restaurant catering to lovers of Sichuan cuisine

More Accolades on the Way?

The Londoner Macao is already regarded as one of the top resorts in the region, with the arrival of the first Luxury Collection Hotel boosting its reputation even further.

Having already been named on the 2023 Condé Nast Traveler Gold List , it is clear that The Londoner Macao is one of the very best places to stay in this part of the world.

It sits alongside the Parisian Macao and Venetian Macao creating Sands China’s integrated resort city, with thousands of suites available to guests who visit here.

Macao’s clinching of a Luxury Collection Hotel from Marriott means that The Londoner will be following in the footsteps of fellow casino-hotel The Bellagio on the Las Vegas Strip.

Marriott’s new Luxury Collection Hotel in Macao will replace the 4,000-room Sheraton Grand.
