Vegas Slot Casino Review

Vegas Slot Casino:

With a name like 'Vegas Slot Casino' you would expect to find only one type of casino game at this online gambling site. Yet,this Microgaming-powered casino actually has a good variety of games and has been running successfully since 1999. As such, I decided to see what it is that keeps a player coming back again and again.

As those that are familiar with Microgaming-powered casinos will know, the casino games themselves are available both via a no-download flash interface and a full software download interface. While on the surface these mediums may appear similar, in reality the flash version lacks many of the games found in the download version. Similarly, while new games are added occasionally to the flash software, it is the download version that is regularly updated. As such, I visited the Vegas Slot casino, and downloaded the 4mb software. Once installed, the software then continues to obtain updates while a patron plays (until all 258 games are installed).

Registering at Vegas Slot Casino is straight forward, and will be familiar to those that have played at Microgaming-powered casinos before. A user simply has to enter their personal details into a web form, and a new account is instantly created. Players can create both a 'guest' and 'real play' account, although it is only the latter that allows real gambling (with the chance to win real money) to take place. At Vegas Slot an account can be denominated in US $, UK £, Euros or Canadian $.

As it happened I actually already had an account at Vegas Slot when I decided to do the review, and as such I simply had to enter my username and password to gain access to the casino. However, while saving me the hassle of registering, this does have one downside - it meant that I couldn't gain the free no-deposit bonus! Your eyes are not deceiving you here - Vegas Slot Casino rewards a player for signing up by awarding them free money. A lovely $15 bonus is automatically added to the account a few hours after account opening. A player lucky enough to win with this money can then cash out - having not even risked a penny!

Of course, depositing money is actively encouraged at Vegas Slot - and thankfully the cashier is set-up in a manner that makes depositing very easy. The usual selection of depositing options are available, including a number of e-wallet solutions. Again, as a 'current' player I wasn't able to claim any bonus on my deposit, but new players are able to claim up to $100 free (100% match). A nice touch at Vegas Slot is that the Microgaming Promotions module is used, meaning bonus money claimed is added instantly to a player's account. Incidentally, on top of the sign-up bonus a further $20 can be claimed by those using an e-wallet to deposit. I personally opted to make a $100 credit card deposit.

As stated earlier, a huge number of games are available; and within the lobby these are broken down by type. I did check out some of the table games available, for example, and found that pretty much every game is available. From numerous Blackjack tables to 3-card Poker to Stud Poker, a player should be able to find a game to suit their needs. What's more, a good betting range is available on many of the games. For example, the Atlantic City Rules Blackjack game accepts bets from $1 to $1000. However, I did notice that on multi-spot games, the limits were reduced to $200 per spot.

The same variety of games can be found in the Video Poker section. Microgaming has really expanded their Video Poker selection recently, particularly with regards to multi-hand games. As such, many games can now be found in single hand, 4-hand, 10-hand, 50-hand and even 100-hand versions. Of course, the individual game selection is great also, with classics such as Jacks or Better sitting alongside cool wild-card games and new additions such as 'All American' poker.

When it comes to the quality of the Vegas Slot games, there really is nothing negative to say. The graphics used on all the games are great, and with the clever use of sound effects a player really does feel like they are in a real casino. This is particularly true of the Video Poker games. When combined with clever features such as 'auto-play' and 'expert play', it's easy to see why online gaming is so popular.

By now you might be thinking this is a bit of 'flying' review based on others here at Online-Casinos.com. However, this is because on this occasion I decided to focus on the name-sake of Vegas Slot Casino - the slot games! With over 100 to choose from, including bonus slots, video slots, 'classic style' mechanical slots and ones with huge progressives, I can see why this casino is called Vegas Slot! With the majority of slot games featuring great graphics and sound effects, I think it's definitely easy to get carried away here!

One of the games I played quite a lot was the relatively new 'Bars and Stripes' game. This video slot has 5-reels, and utilizes American-themed graphics - hence the name. With 25-pay lines, I found it was quite easy to get payouts in this game, although many of these are of low value. Nevertheless, these are good for keeping a bankroll going and for trying to hit the nice 50,000-coin jackpot!

Max-betting on this slot eats up 250 coins a go, which equates to $2.50 at the 1 cent level. However, the crazy thing with this game is that the maximum coin value is $1.00. Multiplying this by 250 means that high-rollers can bet up to $250 per spin - now that's really gambling!

The thing that makes this game cool, though, is the bonus round. While the regular line wins are nice, the bonus round can really pay nicely - up to 47,500 coins according to the payout table! This bonus is activated by spinning in 3 or more American top hats. Once on show, the bonus round then allows a user to 'pick' one or more hats. I was lucky enough to spin in 4 hats and was asked to pick 2. With my first pick revealing a 5000 coin pay-out, I thought I was on to a huge win, but unfortunately my second pick was for just 500 coins. Nevertheless a $55.00 win is not to be sniffed at!

In contrast to Bars and Stripes, one of the other games I played was Cool Buck. This is a slot that's almost as old as Microgaming itself, and is what I term a 'classic' style slot. There are 3 threes and 5 pay-lines, although with the wild multiplier symbol showing up regularly, it's actually not too hard to get wins here. Max coin bets on this game range from $0.75 to $25 per spin.

The thing I like with this game is the simplicity of the slot. With only a few winning combinations it's instantly clear whether a win has spun in or not. Similarly, I liked the way the game pays off when just a single cherry appears. Although the payout for this is low, it means that with just one wheel stopping it's possible to identify the spin as a winner.

Of course, some people don't like slots that pay out small amounts regularly. This is because it means big wins are less likely to appear. As such, games with progressive jackpots will really appeal to this type of player. Progressives have a jackpot that continually grows until it is won, and with some jackpots at Vegas Slot hitting for over a million dollars, it's easy to see what the attraction is!

One of the progressives I chose to play was the Cash Splash game. This was one of the very first progressive games created by Microgaming, and it's still great in my book! I really like the simplicity of the game; and with the wild multiplier Cash Splash symbol it can be a good earner! I like the fact that as well as the jackpot combination a number of other combinations produce nice wins. I've regularly hit this slot for $100+ winners. Unfortunately, on this occasion I didn't win much at all, let alone the $18,000 jackpot!

During my time at Vegas Slot Casino I had a really volatile experience. On some occasions I hit nice wins in quick succession, taking my bankroll to over $300. At other times I had my balance dip to as low as $50! I guess that's what happens with slots though. Having said that, I managed to play for over one hour on my deposit and was still able to cash in $150 for a nice $50 profit.

When it comes to withdrawing at Vegas Slot, things are made very easy. I simply had to enter the cash-in amount in the cashier and the transaction was instantly accepted. At this point the withdrawal sat in a reversible pending period for 24 hours, but after that the withdrawal was sent for processing. A further day or two later and the money was sitting in my NETeller account. I do like a casino that processes withdrawals without hassle.

The last thing to comment on with Vegas Slot is the support function. Here the years of experience held by the casino shows through, with a great number of support options available. Firstly there's the standard email support. However, the real draw is the telephone support available via 14 toll free numbers. Even better is a unique 'call back' facility, where a player can leave their number and receive a call free of charge from a casino representative. This really is a great feature, and will appeal to those that like to know it's easy to contact the casino if things go wrong.

In summary, I think it's quite easy to see why Vegas Slot continues to do well. The casino offers a good number of games and while appealing to the slot player, the selection of other games should appeal to non-slot players too. With sound banking and support functions, the casino really shines when it comes to ensuring the player experience runs smoothly from start to finish. With no-deposit money available to try this casino out, I really cannot see why any player wouldn't give Vegas Slot a go.
