Rivernile Casino Review

Rivernile Casino:

River Nile Casino is one of the newer Microgaming-powered casinos to launch itself on the 'net. However, as with many Microgaming casinos, the marketing budget for this casino must be pretty large, as it has slowly but surely rooted itself as an Internet mainstay since its opening.

The 'about us' section of River Nile Casino talks about the "luck, fertility and development" of the River Nile along which "untold fortunes and treasures have been found". With encouraging words like this, you can imagine the dreams I began to have of wild riches as I started my review of River Nile Online Casino!

As with all Microgaming-powered casinos, to experience the best the casino has to offer a user is advised to play the download version of the casino software. The download is started by clicking on the 'download' icon on the River Nile Casino Website, after which a 6.65mb file is downloaded to your computer. This is a relatively large file size, particularly for dial-up users - and only contains a minimum of games (others are downloaded later). However, there is also a flash version of the site, allowing instant access play for more popular games such as Blackjack.

I opted for the full-blown download version, as I know that this provides a much superior gaming experience. After downloading and installing (a very painless procedure) a user must complete a questionnaire to acquire a user name. This is again very simple, although I was slightly concerned about being asked for an ID number (passport, driving licence etc.). This is supposed to be a fraud-combating tool, but I did feel that maybe this question was a little too much?

Having signed up, it was now time to deposit, a task made all too easy by the casino - although I suppose a casino not wanting your money would be a strange thing! Depositing options at River Nile Casino are plentiful, and include the popular credit card, NETeller and FirePay options, as well as the less popular Money Bookers, Eco card, Pay Spark and others.

Although River Nile Casino does offer a $100 sign-up bonus, I had recently experienced the annoying early bonus win syndrome, where a big win comes along only for the profits to be wiped out because of onerous wagering requirements (as are always attached to bonuses). As such, I deposited $50 and went to see how my luck would hold without any of the casino's bonus money supporting me.

River Nile Casino boasts on it's website to have 90+ casino games, and in fact after playing I would say this may well be a low count - indeed the casino lobby overflows with game options. However, the casino has logically grouped games by type (jackpot, table, video poker etc.) and so finding the right game is easy.

As many review readers will know, Blackjack is my game of choice - and so I started my games review here. However, even Blackjack comes in every variety possible, including Vegas Strip, Atlantic, European and more! I clicked on the first one I came across and sat down to play. The table minimum was $2, which is fine by me, and I started to happily click away hoping for that lucky streak.

Unfortunately, it was about 5 rounds into the game before my first winning hand was dealt. That's why it's called gambling though I guess! The actual game play was faultless however. Top quality graphics are combined with smooth gameplay to really make the gaming experience a good one. Background sound effects and voiceover's are also utilized, although I actually found the American dealer accent somewhat annoying. However, at Casino Nile negatives like this are easily rectified via the option panel, where a player can set up the casino exactly as they want it.

Although I really enjoyed the River Nile Blackjack, the lack of luck meant I needed to move off the table before my money disappeared - and so I next went to the 'Let it Ride Poker' game. Again, this table game really epitomizes the cutting-edge of online gaming today, with fast action combined with visually pleasing graphics. What's more, this game offers a progressive jackpot for players lucky enough to receive a royal flush, which at the time of playing, stood at a massive $87,000!

I checked out some of the other table games available including Red Dog, Three Card Poker and Caribbean Stud Poker, and as before, all are presented in a really top-notch manner. However, my luck at the table games was a different matter - and I was almost wiped out except for a run of luck at the Stud Table, which lifted my bankroll slightly!

Deciding that table games were not going my way, I looked over the Video Poker selection. Again, players are well and truly spoilt for choice - not only is every type of VP available, but many are available as 1-hand, 4-hand, 10-hand and even 50-hand play!

I played a number of different games and again, whilst no big winners came along, the game play was superb. Good graphics are combined with subtle sound effects to make play a very enjoyable experience. My only criticism is that when playing the multi-hand games (particularly 50-hand games), there is a delay after clicking the button for a re-deal. However, I assume that the data required to show each of the 50-hands is considerable and is to be expected. Even though I complain about this, it must be said that it is definitely not a big problem, and should not put people off.

Finally, I clicked on the 'slots' tab to see what was on offer. I knew that Microgaming had developed a lot of slots for its casinos, but to see the Nile list really did surprise me. Every type of game possible is there; from single line to three wheel classics to crazy new video slots featuring aliens and images of Lara Croft!

I always think that at some casinos the online slots are always the disappointing section. This really is not the case at Nile though. I played a bit of the 5-line Jackpot Express, and have to say that the comparison to real slots is uncanny - River Nile should be congratulated on such good virtual creations. Unfortunately at this point my money ran out, but as a testament to River Nile's playability, I instantly deposited another $20 to keep on playing!

In fact, with a bit of luck on the Cash Splash progressives and some nice wins at Blackjack, I got my bankroll up to $50 and decided to cash in with the small loss of $20 overall - not bad considering all the wagering I had done! Cashing in at River Nile was as easy as depositing, with a few clicks in the cashier being all that was required.

Although it was a couple of business days before I heard anything about my cash in, after about 3 days I got an email notifying me that a cheque had been sent to my home address - and after a further 4 days the cheque was delivered and ready for cashing. If I had deposited via NETeller, this process would have been even quicker (I chose credit card) - and shows what an excellent banking facility River Nile has in place.

As with any casino, while the games should be fun, support is also a very important factor to consider. River Nile offers support around the clock in the form of email and telephone. River Nile have done well to recognize the global attraction of online casinos, and show this by offering toll-free numbers for the USA, Canada, Hong Kong, Japan as well as for a number of European countries. I emailed support and received a response in 12 hours - which, although a little slow, is fine here because of the fact instant support is available via telephone. As such, this part of the casino must also be certified as excellent!

In summary, I have to say that I was incredibly impressed with River Nile Casino. Microgaming software is definitely a front-runner in terms of a gaming experience, and River Nile management have combined this with great support and banking facilities. These factors combine to make a faultless gaming experience. Now - if only they could make it so I win every time I play
