Europa Casino Review

Sorry, No US Players Accepted @ Europa Casino
Europa Casino:

Many online casinos are themed to appeal to the US market simply because the vast number of online gamblers originate from that country. Europe is quickly catching up in terms of people gambling online though, and Europa Casino appears keen to cash-in on the growing love of online gambling. With another review due for Online-Casinos.com I decided to see what this Playtech-casino had to offer.

To begin playing at Casino Europa a player must firstly visit the website. The website itself is has a nice, clean look to it and more importantly has sections dedicated to important things such as banking, customer support and, for those that like free money, promotions! From what I could see this casino is only available via the download interface, but with the initial installer file being just 378k in size this should be fine for most players. The installer does request further files from the Internet, but I would say 30 minutes to download would be the maximum time required even on the slowest connections.

I downloaded the casino without problem and before long I was presented with the installation screen. The installation process itself is very uneventful and within 45 seconds or so the casino was loaded and I was starting with the log-in screen.

To play at Europa a player must create an account with the casino. If they want to play for free, a guest account can be created. However, any winnings are not real under this setting and as such many players will opt to create a real account. Real account creation is simple, with an easy-to-complete form being used by the casino to capture a player's key details. As this was a European based casino I opted to create my account in UK £. However, Euro accounts can also be created along with US $ ones - I guess that even though this is a Euro-themed casino the owners don't want to turn gamblers away!

Once inside the casino the attractive lobby displays all the different games available. Thankfully a menu system is utilized to group games by type. As such, the table and card games fall under one menu header and Video Pokers under another. Of course, no play at all can take place until a visit to the cashier is made.

The Europa Casino cashier is very simple to use, and I was impressed with the number of different depositing options available. A good number of e-wallet solutions were available along with traditional methods such as credit card, debit card and wire transfer. As my NETeller account was empty at the time of playing, I decided to make a £50 deposit via Credit Card. Thankfully this went through without issue - I know some casinos are having issues with credit card declines currently.

As mentioned earlier, Europa Casino does offer a range of promotions to keep a player happy. The first of these is the sign-up bonus - players can either choose a £100 match or a massive £500 bonus for depositing £2,000 or more. However, the weekly promotion is probably the most impressive thing about this casino - £25 is available completely free each and every week for loyal players. This really is generous and for regular players, this free money may really be enticing. Having said that, I decided to actually play without a bonus - recently, every time I've played with a bonus I've started well and then crashed out before meeting the set wagering requirements!

To begin my play at Europa Casino I decided to see what the table games were like. I was pleased to see such a good range of games available in this section - old time favorites such as Blackjack (and a number of variations) and Roulette sit nicely alongside more modern games such as Casino Hold'Em. In fact, I think Europa Casino is one of only a handful of casinos to host this game online.

Because a traditionalist however, I decided to begin my play at the Blackjack table. Whilst variations such as Pontoon can be exciting to play, I chose to sit down at a traditional BJ table. At Europa, players can choose to bet on up to 5 spots at once (if sitting at a multi-spot table) which can make play interesting. Of course, it can also lead to faster losses and in fact, after losing 4 straight hands, I decided to get up and walk myself!

Instead I decided to spend more time than I usually would checking out some of the other games available. I particularly enjoyed the Casino Hold'Em game which I have to say I hadn't played much before. The game is played in a similar style to Texas Hold 'Em Poker with both player and dealer receiving 2 hole cards. Competitors then use the community cards to make the best poker hand. Quite simply, the better hand wins!

I also tried out the Let Them Ride Poker game, but with £5 minimums at this table I didn't hang around too long! Generally though, the limits at Europa Casino seemed fine, with most table games accepting bets between £1 and £200 / £300 (game dependent). I was also very impressed with the presentation of the games I played. The dark blue hue given to the felt really has an air of quality about it and generally the graphics used are of a very high quality. The casino also utilized sound effects to enhance game play even further. As you would expect, however, sound effects can be turned on and off and is just one of a number of user-configurable options.

At the end of my table play I actually came out with a profit, with my bankroll resting around the £80 mark. This was actually achieved though by playing some of the live table games available. A great thing with Casino Europa is that, as well as computer-simulated games, some of the games are playable against a live dealer! The casino has utilized webcam technology to beam dealers straight in to the player's home - no complaining about unfair games here!

My next stop was to check out the Video Poker selection available. From what I experienced, Europa Casino has a reasonable number of games and fans of 'traditional' games such as Jacks or Better won't be disappointed. However, I did note that not too many multi-hand games were available. Similarly, some of the less-common games (such as Bonus Poker or some of the wild-card games) are not available. Having said that, the ones that are playable are again well presented, and I for one enjoyed my play.

I personally opted to play the 4-line Jacks or Better game for a while and although I had fun, I didn't really hit and big winning hands. In fact, I think the best I achieved was a 3-of-a-kind hand! Of course, with only having 50 credits to begin with, I wasn't really giving myself much opportunity of hitting the royal flush. I also tried out the Deuces Wild game as well as 25-hand Jacks or Better, but again nothing spectacular happened.

As such, I moved on to the last part of the casino deserving of review - the slot section. As with Video Poker, a reasonable number of games are available. However, it would be untruthful to say the casino has lots of slot games. Having said that, a good variety of games are available both 'classic' style and video style. Those who love jackpots will also be pleased with the decent number of progressive jackpot games available!

From my experience on the slots, the games are pretty well presented. In the most part the games utilize attractive graphics and where possible sound effects are used to add to the player experience. Thankfully, there's no problem with connection delays when playing Europa's slot games and as such, slot players should happily be able to while away half an hour here!

Unfortunately, the slots were not particularly kind to me. Whilst I did successfully win £64 on the Gold Rally game, the bet of £16 per spin means that relatively this was not a huge win. Of course, with this game the real draw is the jackpot which climbs progressively - it often hits for hundreds of thousands!

I also played some of the other slot games, including Goblin's Cave and Queen of the Pyramids. Again, in this video game the progressive jackpot of over £45,000 was very attractive, but sadly I came no where close to hitting it. In fact, before I knew it my bank roll was at zero and it was time to stop.

While on this occasion I had nothing to cash out, from what I could see Europa has a reasonable cash in policy. Often faxed ID is required before a first withdrawal is authorized, but generally all withdrawals are processed within 5 days. Whilst this is acceptable, I have seen faster withdrawal processing speeds elsewhere.

Finally, I checked out the quality of the support offered by Europa Casino. At Europa support is available 24/7 via email, telephone and within in-game live chat. Unfortunately, only players in the US have the ability to call a toll-free number. This surprised my considerably, particularly considering the European theme of this casino. I guess live chat is available to everyone, but from what I could see live chat is often unresponsive - not great. Emails are usually responded to within about an hour, but again I think this could be better.

To conclude, Europa Casino is, in my opinion, a competent casino that will be attractive to some players. There is a good number of games and I was impressed with the quality of the games available. The Slot and Video Poker selection is not huge, but nevertheless will satisfy many people. Similarly, the casino has banking facilities that work along with a reasonable level of customer support. Having said that, I also feel that these two areas could be improved. Nevertheless, this casino is still worthy of attention and with the attractive bonuses may appeal to the targeted European player.
